Loch Lights

from Loch Lights - Single by Jamie Flett

/

lyrics

Today the loch had countless, shining, flashing points of light
A mirage defocused our eyes for another rain smeared night
Behind the murk sedate beacons of so much dying light
Pretenders in the puddles electrically ignite

And it burns bright and briefly
The ashes float away
And the song says that the burn is
Better than the fade away

He souls, she souls on the seashore
The gulls that cry are the souls of the sailors shouting to the boats

The russet and the umber
The opal and the pearl
The silver and the ochre
And a rainbow in the shells

Memento mori
In the animal bones
Oldest of stories
In the layers of the stone

Your feet in the sand
Touch the edge of the sea
The simplest of spells
To leave your body free
Remind your mind
Where to find the key
Open your eyes
Allow you just to be

This has resulted in attempts to investigate some remoter sonic territories.. As well as more songs. ... more
